my mom wont let me get it at claires

i think my mom thinks the way claires pierces ears is unsanitary and i have to get my ears pierced with 24 or 18 k gold and claires dosent have that

Afterdoing some research, I discover that some places at the mall are as sanitary as a doctor office, who is doing it once in a while, when at the mall they do it several times a day. So I went to the mall and watch the different places, how they were operating, if they had customers, the procedure, the cleaning, the gloves, the mirror for the opinion (before) of the person going to be pierced (I would have hate to be uneven)....and I decided to go for Claire"s. Fast, easy, painless during and after; I followed the instruction and use the cleaning product they give me included in the price: No pain never, no infection. I have to say that I have chosen 14K gold studs, since yellow gold is purest to the real gold than white gold and I know this is the best metal against allergy.
May be you should bring your Mom just to watch, like I did, and she would reconsider!

I understand where your mom is coming from. Claires may have metal like stearling, but I found out that the backings are all nickel (lot's of people are allergic to nickel) when my ears got infected in the back. Also, it's not possible to sanitize the guns they use, so needles are better.

I went to a body piercing/tatoo parlor where they use implant grade matals and needles. It was much less painful than claires, and my ears are healing much faster.

The above answers are right- any body piercing or tattoo shop can do it and they are held to health regulations. For these places though, you will need to have your parent's picture ID, your birth certificate, and of course your parent if you're under 17. Plus they usually use stainless steel (not the plastic stuff). And depending on your age- your doctor (your pediatrician) can do the piercing but you will need to bring your own jewelry. Tell your mom about these. You can get a 14K gold (or white gold) starter earing set at WalMart real cheap if you go the Dr route. Good luck!

I would say Claires or Icing by Claires are the best bet x they r pros at doing it and when i first asked my mum where am I going to get my ears peirced she said defo not at claires! But now shes saying get it done at claires!! If ur mum wont let u have it done at claires then try a professional jewellers or a pharmacy!!

Merle Normans is a good place if you have one near you. I've had my ears done at Claires and Wal-mart... a salon would be a much better place to get them done... and unless you're doing something wild or weird done.. a tattoo and body peircing place would probably be too expensive..

I got my second hole done at the Peircing Pagoda. I think both places are fine though as long as the technician knows what they're doing and since you don't have much way of knowing unless you ask a bunch of people who have used one particular person at either place, you are just going to have to take a chance and hope for the best. The most important part is doing a good job of cleaning the peircing after you have them done and that is on you.
