what do u mean download??
if u mean downloading something from internet directly to a cd... then thats not possible... or if u r trying to save something on it directly, that aint possible too, if u want to get somethin on the disk save it to hdd and burn it to the cd witha perticular software such as nero..

If its dvd rom then you can't
ROM= read ONLY media.. not write

first of all u cant download to the disk, u burn to the disk!
second, try to configure it or give microsoft acall..
