Risky. Who you are on line may not be who you are in real life. On line, we have the delete button. You can create a personality and you can edit your thoughts and your words. In real life, it's a bit harder to keep your true self from surfacing. I've had a similar experience...on text messaging. And it's a long drawn out process because it takes awhile to really get to know someone that way, and still you never really know.
There are success stories, but lots of nightmarish ones too. If you wish to go down that route, do so with caution and never agree to meet with the other person without backup and without telling someone you know where you are going to meet. Try to get someone to hang around the general area where you can be observed while you meet with this person.

RIDICULOUS! First, you don't know who the person is, you'll probably never meet them, for all you know, they can be a 80 year old person of the same gender as you...I think it's the stupidest thing anyone can do. It also shows that you are desperate.
Just find a relationship in real life.

I don't think exclusively online relationships make a lot of sense. Spending time with someone in person is a large part of a relationship.

be very, very careful with any information you give out about yourself, family , friends, locations or any form of personal facts. There are some very predatory, sadistic and evil people that just sit and wait for unsuspecting victims to con or entice by lies and half truths feeding you what you want or need to hear in order to gain your confidence. It is much wiser and safer for you to fish in the pond you reside at.

I think they are no good. Ever heard of Photo editing? The ones you see are not the ones you get.
