Rap is really annoying but R&B is nice. People actually sing in it.

Personally, I feel R&B has become a victim of DE-EVOLUTION. A musical style that has lost all credibility to society at large. A genre that its founding definition is now gone with all of its feeling and expression along with it.
RAP!, Music? I think not, This style of expression has evolved back to the days of the first primates on Earth. A squence of basic rythmns behind the sounds of utterly random gibrish.
This may have not been the answer you were looking for but you asked for an opinion and that is what I have provided.
Not to be bias, I also feel that other styles of music such as rock, country, jazz, and even the blues are heading down the same path as Rythmn & Blues. Everyone is making noise and singing but no one is expressing true feeling anymore. SAD, BUT TRUE!

I like R&B music mostly especially songs that have messages in them. I love music by India Arie and Anthony Hamilton. But I like some rap as well.

Both cool, but you need to know the difference between RAP and CRAP. To be a true hip hop fan you need to know the roots of hip hop, you need to appreciate the old school guys like De La Soul, Tribe Called Quest, Blackalicious, Erik B and Rakim etc etc its not about b*tches and ho*s,shooting and killing,drugs and gangs. Its about being heard,having something meaningful to share,enriching young minds,positivity and the occasional dis to keep competition going with other groups(because thats how they used to do it in the streets).Stay true to yourself,dont poison your mind with all the CRAP thats out there.True hiphop speaks to the soul, uplifts you!At least thats my opinion,but who listens to me anyway!

Rap.....the 5th wounder of the world. All it is is talking about killing , calling women hoes. Its all negitive crap. Its not music by any means. Its just uneducated street hoods whining. R&B is a form of music. They should'nt be in the same sentence.

Some Rap is ok...I like Nelly myself....I do like R&B.....as for Rap, I think Granny on America Has Talent was so darn cute.....Grammaluvsu

r&b is my fav kind of music. i 'm not that into rap. if it comes on the radio i'll listen to it but i wont buy a rap cd. or if someone like mariah feat a rapper on a single i'll listen to it.

i used to like alot of rap but it has started to sound the same. can we get some originality people? every song has a sample from some old eighties song. it has gotten old. some of the r&b is good though.

I like mainly hiphop,and rap iz my top style whereas Rnb iz after it.(I like dem both but rap....a lil'bit more especially the ones in the mid-90s such as 2pac,Nas,Jay z,Ice cube,Snoop dogg,biggiesmallz,mobbdeep,wu-tang clan....etc).
