A Dutch anchor man said: "Well, that war thing is over, look at Klinsman, he is just as Dutch a we are". This symbolises the change the public opinion made in Holland. Germany is okay. The people are friendly, they can be cool, they are open minded and they do not assume everybody speaks German.

The only thing is, we think the Germans are not good at jokes. We admire the English for there sense of humour. German TV shows we like are thrillers or detectives.

Like the German who went to a bar and had to wait long for his cup of coffee. He said angry "When do I become a cup of coffe", the barman said "Never I hope!"

I'm English and I have many Deutche freunden und (back to Englisch) I find that the English normally dislike the French rather than the Germans as they're so damned ungrateful. I hope the fans from my country stay well behaved during the world cup and I'm sure you'll get a lovely welcome if ever you come to this sceptred isle. Just remember to understand the word 'queue' when you get here and want to catch a bus.

I've been there twice. Both times to Bavaria. I like the people and most of the beer/food. (Not leberknodel or blutwurst.)

I like the castle at Heidelberg & Neuschwanstein. The glockenspiel in Munich is also lovely.

I don't like the music they play in the clubs.

I do wish that I wasn't looked at as a "clean freak" though. My relatives thought I was crazy because I showered every day and wanted to do laundry more than once a week. They remarked that Americans are so awkward to be so clean about themselves yet they throw trash in the street.

well, i ve been to dusseldorf and duisburg on vacation. unfortunately i dont have the greatest things to say and the best memories! people were rather rude, nobody was speaking english to me even though i am sure they understood, they were all expecting me to speak german. i had problems anywhere, the metro, buses, shops, it was impossible to communicate. thank god there were turkish people working in shops and they were speaking english and i was able to buy something! even in my hotel (the best and most expensive in duisburg) nobody was speaking english, i needed some medicines and they sent me to a super market for god's sake!
we were also very disappointed because the whole city was totally empty, especially after 8pm, nobody was out.
apart that which is terrible for a tourist, the prices were very low, the buses and stuff very accurate as it concerns time, food was great, beers amazing, the river really pretty and the nature was giving you some fresh air!

I think the proper question is "What do you think of Germany?"

The Germans I have met are cool. I hope to visit Germany someday!

But if you mean football and the World Cup....poor old Sweden - they don't deserve to be thrashed! XD

I have never been in Germany. But as generally known there are many Turkish people living there. There is also a small Istanbul in Germany (it is named by Turkish people in that way). I have some of my relatives living in Germany who are more than 10 people.

if you mean "what do you think?" then I think the germans seem nice and friendly and efficient. I think they could also win the world cup and have a strong football team! Good luck germany...

I feel this is an opinion question, there is no right answer. I think Germany is great! I love the way it embraces Europe and many other nations and nationalities

I like the sounfd of the place. It does'nt do itself any favours sometimes but it seems friendly and open. I would like to visit next year, I hear its very open toward gay men. England and the press should stop the war banter
