Some video cards will allow for multiple monitor outputs, but they generally limit you to two. An advantage is that you can put the two monitors next to each other and double the size of your desktop.

For three, my suggestion is a VGA splitter. This will allow for more than two outputs but each will show the same image.

It depends on the Video Card you install. The Video has to support connecting 3 monitors and also the PC has to support the Video Card you install.
