Do you think that Jay-Z is justified in boycotting the product?
Do you think that Cristal is a little ungrateful?
How many of you probably wouldn't know about Cristal had it not been popularised by the hip hop community?

Cristal, is actually terrible champagne, (in my opinion). Much too sweet, and yes they should be thankful that New money Millionaires and wannabe players shell out the big bucks for the stuff. - You see, the only reason they buy it is because it is the more expensive drink. Moet Chandon and Dom Perignon are far superior drinks, but don't have the "clout" as being tauted the most expensive in the bar.

This is why Cristal has actually lost some appeal with its traditional customer base. It is now seen as "tacky" to drink, because of the association with the type of people who have more money than brains (read taste). Kinda like a Cadillac with gold trim.

So yes, sales may decrease with the new money types, but perhaps they can rebuild their image and focus on their traditional demographic.

Wow I wasn't aware that all rappers were just consumers. I must have missed the day that made headlines. More rappers than people realize take care of not just their families and friends but donate a lot of money to charity. The whole celebrity genre are big consumers, look at Trump's lifestyle. One of his homes has a gold-plated front door. Celebrities buy million dollar homes and tear them down to build a bigger home. It's not just rappers.
I think Cristal made a comment trying to butter both sides of their bread. Will Cristal fold because of Jay-Z's boycott? No. Will they show a decline in sales? A little. Will they really care? Nope (note...I'm not a fan of rap music or Cristal)

I view the comments of the director as having a right to his opinion. And free speech still exsists in our country. The same goes forJay-z he has a right to his opinion. If he took it that personally to go as far as boycotting it from his clubs. I hope his patrons and supporters are in sinc with his choice. Again free speech that is up to him. As far as Cristal being ungrateful both the boycotting and the ungratefullness are in the public eye now. Business is business and thta's a whole different deal. The question more to the point in my opinion is: which of the two enterprises is going to profit most from the publicity? My guess is both will get an obvious spot in the lime light and some free advertising out of it. And that also seems to go with the being in business. Hmm...S.

Cristal is as tasteless as the Hip Hop community. The arrogance of Jay-Z is stunning. I didn't know that Cristal had sunk down to his level. Both products should be dumped in the "who cares" bin.

Crsital is like cadillacs..... rap music actually caused it to loose a little bit of class. Rappers did not make the Cristal popular that is a misconception. Besides all rappers did was promote wasting money on expensive alcohol instead investing it or taking care of family. That's the one thing I hate about the hip-hop/rap culture... the influence to be consumers and not savers/investors.

Does anyone really care if JayZ boycots Champagne..it is not like he is affecting their sales.. I don´t know too many kids that can afford Cristal.. besides.. lets stop honoring these talentless wankers with loads of money and credit they don´t deserve.. They are singers, that´s it. Nothing more..
And as for Jayz personally being responsible for Cristal being known in the market place..PLEASE.. only in America would you be so unaware as to make a statement like that.

A new low has been achieved. Along with the Catholic missionaries handing out aid packs that don't have condoms in them because it's an evil sin. Almost the entire continent is collapsing under the weight of this disease and yet an ancient doctrine is making sure it'll survive.

I think that we have definitely lost our freedom of speech. The whole boycotting thing is ridiculous, just over a comment. Think about it!! We have become a society so scared of saying anything because we don't wish to offend, anger, etc.

Is this what our forefathers wanted for these united states? I think not. We should be able to make our opinions noted.
