i've been on it for as long as its been around now, and the only calls i get are local "would you like to donate to the fund for police blah blah blah".

i tell them to mail me something, i dont trust ANY telemarket call.

heres a few tips too, ever get a call and theres nobody on the other line? thats an auto-dialer that records what time you picked up the phone. it figures out when you're home so a real person can call you. when you hear that theres nobody there, hit # a few times real fast on the phone. it screws that thing up, and to avoid getting messed with, it takes your number off the list.

another one, do you get credit card applications in the mail all the time? well, those little "no postage needed" envelopes? they arrange ahead for postage, but they're only charged for the ones that actually get sent out. so, take the blank forms and send them back to them. send them something that says "no thanks, not interested". send them ANOTHER COMPANY'S FORM. lol. then they get charged the 40 cents, AND have to throw away your trash. theres lots of ways to mess with these guys.

The national Do Not Call Registry is at: www.donotcall.gov

However, don't expect too much from it. After being on the list for about a year, I still get about 80% of the previous volume of telemarketing calls. When I confront some of these companies, they use the excuse that it takes six months to a year for their databases to get updated, but that I would be deleted from their call lists soon.

Last week I got a call from a telemarketer whose information was at least 15 years out of date!

You can also call the phone company to have those numbers blocked
Tell the telemarketer,if your lucky enough to get a live operator, that you do not wish to recieve calls from them and to remove your name from their lists. Most will still try to sell whatever they are selling.....next step?....ask them the name of telemarketing agency or whomever they represent.....tell them your writing the name down and the phone number used to call your house....ask the person to connect you with a supervisor....they have to comply...a quick story.....
I have 2 seperate phones both rang at dinner time and had the "gut "feeling.....sure enough.....cords were long enough I let them talk to each other.

Sorry can't say but one thing you can do is tell them to take you off their call-list and the master call-list. They are obligated by law to do so if asked. I started doing this last year and rarely receive anymore calls.
