Hooligans are an embarassment but you're right, England fans do have a bad rep but you can't tar everyone with the same brush can you?!

I think the only way to solve the problem of football violence and hooliganism, is for the Football Association to come down hard and make the fans and supporters suffer. This would however also mean taking it out on the football teams involved where the trouble took place.
Is what I mean by this, is for the FA to ban all fans and supporters from the next match that their team plays, so the match would be played in an empty stadium.
I know this sounds a bit harsh, but the FA, Police, Football Teams, and supporters groups really need to sort this problem out as we "the English" always seem to be involved somehow.
I know some people would probably not agree with my view on this, but by banning people from attending matches, arresting them or fining them just doesn't work. They need to get tough, and soon.

I get really wound up when i hear / read comments like this. We are not the only ones causing trouble, there has been loads of reports of other trouble from other countries fans but it hasn't been made such a big deal of. And i also HATE the way all england fans ore banded together. The majority should NOT be judged on the minorities actions and i think it is small mindessness when people do!

Are you Scottish, perchance?

Those that were arrested had had far too much to drink, and were totally blotted. I think there was more of a problem about them being very drunk in a public place, rather than anything else.

Hooligans - however - go to tournaments just to cause trouble - some don't get that drunk at all. They are organised gangs and there are gangs like this in every country with a half-decent football team. Most are racists and thugs with a history of violence and crime.

After all, we are apparently the worst binge drinkers in Europe. Some people just don't know when to stop. It's quite sad.

Given the thousands of fans and the huge amount of alcohol there has hardly been any trouble, maybe we should stop all the horse goers after the trouble at Ascot this week. I also think the news is a bit light this week so papers report on it as big when it was a probably not that big a deal. No worse that a large town on a Friday night.

because of the fact the win for England became per an very own objective by an opposing participant...it feels as though England will could desire to perform a little actual soul finding and attempt to boost their point of play. Now perhaps England is a sluggish starter..yet while the media and critics save harping on Wayne Rooney too a lot...it may desire to correctly result his team friends to the component that Wayne could make a actual distinction. And that doesnt bode properly for them.basically like Germany, it doesnt take one guy to win a journey!. It takes a team it particularly is consistent and properly organised.England this night didnt coach any spark.in the event that they pass in this way...it is a actual worry. of their team England can area out the competition yet could desire to coach something greater.Step up the %. adult adult males!.on the different hand...something can take place in this worldwide up.There are dark horses.there will be marvel defeats!. Dont underestimate the underdogs of soccer.seem at what occurred to France while they met Senegal!! I guess France became shaken?!

I'm English & admit they do bring shame on us, but please bear in mind that compared to the 10s, maybe hundreds of thousands of english that are in Germany, it's just a moronic handful that are out for trouble - unfortunately the media focus on this handful making it appear to be a much bigger problem. For some reason english fans' misbehaviour seems to get far more coverage than that of other fans.

Barring all english fans would just punish the innocent majority, a better Idea would be much harsher punishments for those convicted for violent offences - 4 years minimum jail term so they're guaranteed to miss the next world cup.

It's everywhere. I'm sure i read that the German fans where causing trouble the other day too, so it's down to the police and FA to banned individuals. Too much to ban whole countries.

Even thought they may do many stupid things, that's no reason to ban them. They came to cheer on their country and that's what they are doing just in a different way. Instead of banning them we could set rules that do not allow the behavior they are using to cheer on their team.

It's not just English fans who cause trouble but they are always highlighted by the media.Whenever crowds of people and alcohol are involved,it doesn't take much to spark a fight.
