i have already replaced the cap and rotor and coil and double checked the spark plug wire placement but cannot get any fire. going crazy here trying to figure this thing out. the coil and the hot wire to the battery get warm but no fire. engine turns over good and has fuel to the carb. just seems to be an electrical problem. what other common parts may need replacing?

I have heard from ex-boyfriends that sometimes this is the alternator or the sillanoid(spelling?), but I am no mechanic.
Just a storer of info.

if you get no fire from the coil wire you may have connected the hot wire to the wrong side of the coil, if so you probably fried it.
