I prefer the antivirus NOT to be big in size because I'm using a modem

the best free antivirus programs...... i would only trust two programs. that would be avast or avg. they are both good, some people like on over the other. more than likely it's more how they like the program rather than one being better. i like avg better. but i won't say it's better. i just prefer it. both have been in use a long time. and both have been hugely popular. even free stuff doesn't last if it's no good. also download a free antispyware app. and use a firewall plenty of free ones that are pretty good. check out download.com for a lot of options. i've included links to places to download some of the best security freeware. time proven to work. millions of people on a budget depend on these apps. so don't feel under protected.

Avast is a good one. You can download the home edition for free.
It also has tips and cleaners on the site to help.

You can also try Windows Defender.

These are both good but, there are a wealth of anti-virus program that work justa as well.

Go to grisoft.com and click on the space where you see it says download free trial. It's AGV FREE TRail versuion. Grisoft is the best!

www.download.com.u can search for avg anti-virus free edition.its strong enough for normal users and it doesn't take up much bandwith for the updates.plus the updates are almost everyday.
