A name is a label for a thing, person, place, product (as in a brand name) and even an idea or concept, normally used to distinguish one from another. Names can identify a class or category of things, or a single thing, either uniquely, or within a given context. A name for a specific unique and identifiable individual living being (including animals, pluralities, or ethnic groups), is sometimes called a proper name and is a proper noun. Other nouns are sometimes, more loosely, called names; an older term for them, now obsolete is general name.

Because the color orange is called after the fruit. So what you should really be asking is:
If an orange is orange why isn't green called lime or yellow called lemon

1) You're not a pathetic dumb***. Trying to obfuscate profanity should be reason to have you censored.
2) Based on your profile picture, you're making an anti-president comment, which I take offense to. You're acting foolishly.
3) Lime is a color that describes the same color as Lime, a mineral.
4) An orange might be called orange in color, but that doesn't mean other fruits need to be named the same way. Your question isn't logical.

I think a better question would be if green citrus is called a lime and yellow citrus is called lemon or grapefruit, why did they let someone with NO imagination name the orange.

According to Wikipedia the fruit came first, so it would be more likely to call green lime and yellow lemon. I think Crayola patented those names for crayons.
