I checked on this recently, and have been informed the age is 12: however, my son would be escorted to the next available terminal for my cousin to meet him, if that helps. Good luck!

I used to work at an airport and I've seen hundreds of children traveling alone. From what I understand, there is no limit. I've seen children as young as 8 traveling alone, but they normally are assisted by flight attendants and are let on and off the planes first. This must be accompanied by the fact that it was allowed by a legal guardian and they have a ticket...

so little kiddies that are thinking about running away or something weird like that, it'll be tough to get onto a plane.

On a plane I think it's somewhere around 8 or 9, but the child must be registered with the airline as a "flying alone" child. This happened with me when I went down to my cousin's wedding on a flight. But as for a bus or train I really don't know. Check with the companies to see if you can arrange for assistance should you be planning on doing anything like it. I'm sure they could arrange something for your convenience.

My guess is 12 or 13, but I bet it varies between the diffrent companies. I don't think there is any set governmental limit.

ON A PLANE THERE ARE DIFFERENT RULES FOR DIFFERENT SCENARIOS.
CHANGE OF PLANES REQUIRED? NON STOP? INTERNATIONAL OR DOMESTIC?

NOT SURE OF BUS OR TRAIN. I SUGGEST YOU PHONE 800AMTRAK OR YOUR LOCAL BUS STATION.
