Nigeria has been ranked as the most corrupt country in the world.
An annual survey carried out by the Berlin-based Transparency International (TI) also grouped Angola, Cameroon, Kenya and Mozambique among the top 10 most corrupt.

The damning report was released as the Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo made an official visit to Britain pressing for reduction of the country's huge debts.


An investigation report released in July this year revealed massive misappropriation of of public money by members of the national assembly.

The Nigerian government has been battling to bring back nearly $3b stashed away in foreign banks by former ruler, the late Sani Abacha.

I think, the main reason is that Nigeria is extremely rich in natural resources (petroil), so big interests exist to corrupt its government. Once some people are put in some places, things develop like a snowball with equally deplrable traditions at all levels. Poorer the society, easier to do this. And many African peoples are poor. Some rumours claim that well-living Switzerland, not EU member, is not the last in the destiny of Nigeria.

The report was produced by "TI" they usually want to hurt countries which are weak, and vulnerable..... TI is a based in Germany and they can't mind their own business......so they are out there to make countreis look bad.........This is all part of politics..
