Adam and Eve made clothes by sewing fig leaves together because they realized they were naked. God later made them clothes of animal skin.

Clothing was originally "invented" as protection from the weather, as people migrated into regions with colder climates.

It then expanded into personal adornment, and protection in battle. Clothing can also indicate cultural status.

Where I live (Midwestern USA, immediately south of the Great Lakes) the winter weather makes clothing a necessity for survival!

It is also fun to "dress up." I see clothing as a necessity, something that is fun, and also, occasionally, as "costume."

If others want to join "clothing optional" groups, clubs, or societies, that is OK by me. I prefer to retain "clothing optional" for the privacy of my own home.

I think cloting was first made when Adam&Eve ate from the garden and when they did that they realized they were naked and covered themselves up and from there we are here now! Amazing how far we've came since the beginning huh?
