It it a matter of comfort for you and the baby. Having a extra bed that you can have in the living room so the baby is next to you while in other parts of the house maybe a great idea...Even if you get a pack n play that has a bassinet attachment would be a great idea and might be cheaper then a bassinet...
Just make sure you don't have anything else in the bed with the baby so that he/she doesn't get suffacaited, and swaddle really good so that the baby doesn't turn over on face to early always lay baby on his/her back to prevent RSV and other baby issues.

never heard of that before none of my 3 ever used a moses basket they all went straight into a crib next to my bed then into a cot
the previous answer says to make sure the feet are at the bottom of the cot that is current advice but impossible to do with my oldest as she would always get heself to the top of the cot within 5 mins even if she was asleep when i put her down
good luck and enjoy your baby

i am a nursery assistant and i have also 2 bros and 3 sis a moses basket would be ideal but you can just put the baby with his or her feet at the bottom of the cot with a blanket to his waist hope that helps and good luck

I never had a moses basket, I had 2 bassenettes that my son would not sleep in. They can sleep in the crib. I know many many parents whose children slept in their swings, play pens, bouncy seats. My child slept in his stoller for the first few months.
What may be best for the child isn't always where the child wants to be. It may sound bad to have your child sleep in his stroller, bouncy seat or even a swing but if thats where they get their best sleep and if thats the only place they will sleep, you do what you gotta do.
Being a first time mom is scary but thru trial and error it becomes easier. Good Luck, just remember where ever you place your child to sleep make sure it is safe.

One of the reasons for the bassinett or basket is so the baby can be near you in the first few weeks. If the crib is going to be in your room then it is fine to start them out there. I kept both of my kids in a bassinett because we didnt have room for the crib in our bedroom, it was a great comfort to be able to reach over from my bed and be able to check the baby, you will be extremely exhausted and getting out of bed to check the baby frequently wont help with that. Just my opinion, Good Luck!!!

I have 3 children and I've never used a Moses basket. Don't feel bad if you don't have one. Some things are just extra and unnecessary.

It's not a bad thing to put your baby in a crib right from the start. I did that with my daughter and she did just fine. Good luck and I hope that delivery goes quick and easy for you.

A crib will be fine. The baby hasn't read the books that tell you to do something else.

Yes, you can put your baby in a crib from birth. Or you can put her/him in your bed for nighttime sleep. The best place for baby to sleep is wherever you can put her/him so that the whole family gets the most sleep.
