use one of the templates on a word processor and just make sure everything is spelled right, you don't use any weird grammar and that everything is aligned *perfectly*

if you want it to really stand out there should be uniformity in how each section is setup

make sure it is only one page long, unless you have a TON of work experience you need to list and it sounds like you do not.

don't list anything that you cannot relate to the job in some way as to why it would be beneficial to them if asked in an interview. if you are fresh out of high school, community service activities and extracurriculars are OK to list but if you've been to college leave stuff from high school to the basics, i.e. you got Salutatorian or graduted with honors.

List a section of relevant skills if you don't have a lot of work history but just a lot of knowledge

above all be TRUTHFUL. if you steal someone else's as the idiot above suggested the employers will probably just find out in their background checks so don't. employers google prospective employees now too so make sure there isn't a picture of you on myspace hitting a bong.

First off, never lie on a resume. Sure many companies never check the items on them but what if they do? The second they realize you have lied you are in the trash can.

I would also read up on proper resume formats. The best is still a single page resume. Brief, descriptive and to the point.

Give them points on how you will increase thier business as well and goals you have.

A resume has to speak for you without you there, it is a very important document.

Researching the company helps as well. The more you know about the company the more it will impress the interviewer.

Use quality paper, quality envelope, printed address labels. Hand writing on any part of a resume or package is frowned upon.

Don't get wordy, they don't care about the small details. They want to know your skill levels.

Example: If you were a pizza shop mgr.

You don't say:

I made pizzas, did nightly paperwork, managed 9 employees and unloaded the supplies from the semi truck.

You say something more like:

Responsible for daily and weekly totals, Supervision and training of staff, Inventory and Purchasing.

Go online. There are many sites that will help you create an impressive resume and get the job. And oh when you hand it in put a star in the corner of the first page. It will catch their attention when they are flicking through numerous resumes. it could give you the edge.

First of ll, be truthful because some companies cross check information. List all ur experiednce and abilities in a profeesional manner (a template from one of the many job sites wud help). Dont add personal stuff like what ur hobbies are and how you spend ur free time and all that useless stuff coz companies are not really interested in that. At the end you cud probably mention ur goals and ur abilities to reach them.

Well, you should only report valid and to the point information. They ask for specific abilities? Try to find in your career stuff that will reflect that... per ability.

Don't leave out the rest you did but ad that on a side list.

If they want a program-engineer that's faithful and has no problem to burn the midnightoil, it will hardly interest them you had a paperroute... However, If you did that for 10 years and it helped you pay for college.. they will want to know that. Get it?

your cv should not be one page long. It needs to reflect your history and past employment.
It should not be longer than 3 pages. Mine is 2 pages.

Start with a brief bit about yourself

Then your past employment starting with your most recent. Put employer, dates and reason for leaving. Then bullet point your job, what you do/did. Make it interesting.

Then list your qualifications

then your hobbies.

Then print it out and get lots of people to proof read it, listen to their suggestions and change if required

Resume should have information as per the job demands. So be creative in presenting yourself as the right choice and if you have some additional qualities well get it there, but do not make it boring.
