As long as there is religious fanaticism in the world - mine's right and yours isn't - there will be no peace - at least, until everyone is dead.

You can't anticipate the whole world to be peaceful--such expectations inevitably result in complete disappointment. The world isn't a friendly place, and if it was, that would be against the laws of nature itself. We are, after all, competing with other life forms--including other humans--to continue surviving. This is animalistic behavior, to an extent, but I would still say most humans engage in it.
The only thing one can do is be as accepting of others as possible--to personally follow this belief of being peaceful and hoping to spread it to others.

Peace is probably unobtainable. Tribalism is comming to the fore with small minded groups of english, scots, irish, welsh in Britain and many disperate groups in the states which have untold numbers of malitias.
Just look at the bias and racism in a lot of the questions on this site!

Find it first, within yourself.
Then come back and ASK how others feel. Don't demand!
The only route to peace, is love for all your fellow man, showing your peaceful intent, by your own example!
Be what you advocate, do what you advocate, just as Christ told all of us to do:
Whether you believe or not, whatever your faith, creed or colour, His words are surely the starting block for all of us to follow.
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
"Love one another."
"Forgive your enemies."
"Pray for those who hate you."
It is so easy to make war, peace however, is the hardest path to tread... because it demands tolerance, unselfishness and serious strength of character.
You'll get there as you age... most of us do eventually!
You wake up one day and suddenly realise, it just aint worth the headache of banging against that wall of anger.
There are as many arguments against you, as there are people in this world, and there are as many again, who agree with you, we are but human, and we learn at our individual pace.
Like the game of snakes and ladders, you'll get almost to the top and then, bang, you're at square one again. Such is life!
Be at peace inside and do the best you can, don't go out on the rampage stirring up problems, or your good intentions will be twisted upside down and become the cause of someone elses war!
:-)

No one want's peace in the world. You don't know that the war is making the most money? It's all about talking and make people belive that for peace they are fighting, for fredom. Look at Afganistan were it is now after they were eliberated. War will exist for ever is our nature. To have wars whit parents, friends, colegues, teachers, other countries and so one.

People have given up on peace. The TV tells us that violence is good and necessary and we all sit there and lap it up like the obedient sponges we are. Most cultures throughout history have actually been peaceful. We are the savages - we really need a good hard look at ourselves.

If we impeach Bush and all attend more peace marches what will change? If Hillary is elected two years from now how will she deal with a N. Korea intent on obtaining the bomb, Iran, intent on attaining the bomb, Al Queda intent on destroying you and me, warlords in Africa intent on killing off other Africans, Chavez of venezuela intent on building his military arsenal, Sunnis intent on killing Shiites, on and on. I'm afraid it is only ideology.
