Your rear view mirror will answer this for you. If you look up into the mirror and see nothing but a grill or bumper then.... Your choice! lmao... Yellow technically means stop. If you CAN NOT stop then you may pass without worry of a ticket but legally you must stop. Running a red light is defined as; If any part of a vehicle is within the limit lines of an intersection when the light turns red.

Depends where you are in relation to the light. If you are going the speed limit and the distance is too short in which to stop in a safe, controlled manner, just proceed. If you are far enough away and driving at the speed limit, you should stop.

That said, if no one is around and giving it a little gas will get you through, then yellow means accelerate.

If you have your driver's license, you supposedly knew the answer at one time. Neither. You proceed with caution if there is no traffic in the way, otherwise you stop.

There is no situation, other than one in which you are protecting your own life or others', in which you slam on the brakes or the gas.

Don't "slam on the brakes" you will cause an accident ... if you are going through when they change then you are supposed to go unless it is unsafe to do so.

If you are travelling at a reasonable speed and you see the light change ahead then a reasonable braking motion will stop you.

In answer, if you have to make this decision then you were driving too fast.

Depends totally on the situation...am I driving 45 or 25? Do I have a clear view of opposing traffic lanes or is this a crowded intersection? How close am I? And probably most importantly, am I late for work or just out noodling about, lol?

in most states it is illegal to enter an intersection on a yellow light.however,,if your wanting to turn, but the traffic is heavywith a green light,go ahead and get in the intersection and wait for the light to turn,as you will have the right of way when the light does turn if your allready in the intersection.

Before you slam the brakes, check behind you! If the car behind you is too close, you are safer going through! (from rear-ended too often)
