You say you dance a good solo!
So, now you have to put you heart and soul into it.
A lyrical dance gives you the chance to prove to yourself
and others that you are a great dancer and know how to
interpret the music.
You have to live in the dance. BE THE DANCE!
Your whole performance has to say to the
judges "I am the dance"!
Your face , eyes, body and your movements
have to portrait the essence of the dance.
Of course your costume is very important.
It will help you to feel and be the dance.
For that time (your solo dance) you don't see,
hear or be anything else. You are the only one that
matters at the moment.
This way, the judges will be so captivated by your
performance that they have no choice but to "love"
you. Not just "like" you.

Connection, connection, connection! If you're doing a solo, make the judges your audience. Look at them, and involve them in what you are doing. Nothing turns judges off faster than the dancer who is so absorbed in the dance that the audience (and the judges) are excluded. Use your eyes, use your whole body, and remember that the basic purpose of dance is entertainment, not self-gratification. If you're dancing for yourself (which can be a fun thing to do) don't use that technique when you're in front of judges. You have to make them identify with you and what you are doing. It's called personality.

Wear an outfit you think they might like. Stand out from the crowd. Use facial expression to your benefit. Really look like you're totally 100% into what you are dancing, and look like you are having a good time.

Smile Big, and have your eyes up the whole time. Look like you know what you're doing up there. If you mess up a little, keep dancing. NEVERRR look at the girl next to you to see what she's doing. All in all, be confident.

Really sell it. Watch the dancers on "So you think you can dance" Look at their facial expressions, they may feel stupid but look great.
Confidence is key, even if you mess up keep going. Don't tip anyone off that you messed up and you'll be fine.
Good Luck1

If when you bow, at the end of your performance, you let out a real loud and stinky fart. The judges will laugh so loudly and with such abandon that they will fart and the audience will laugh and fart and then you will be a hero to your people. Fart and the world farts with you.

Providing the judges are fair minded individuals, they will most assuredly recognize the contestants that put their heart and soul into their performance.
