Back packs. Fanny packs are just gay, or else make you look very touristy. As for purses, if you're a girl, sure, if you're a guy, go for the backpack if you have something that won't fit in a wallet.

Back packs. I even have a black leather one that I take to work. A fanny pack is cool only when slung over one shoulder.
