In case you didn't know, and iPod is an mp3 player, so you are asking if you should buy an mp3 player or an mp3 player. As for brand names, they don't matter. iPods are nice, but a little overpriced and definitely overrated. Creative has some really nice ones. Well, there are several that are nice. Maybe check a site like epinions or consumer reports for more information. The screens on iPods break very easily, so be careful if you decide to buy an iPod.

iPods can play MP3s too, so I'll guess you're saying "iPod or non-iPod."
Someone else said the iPod holds more music, which isn't true. There are plenty of MP3 players that hold as much and more music than the largest-sized iPod. Also, someone said you can download free music for your iPod, but this is also true of any MP3 player. Check out http://www.epitonic.com and http://download.music.com.
iPods tend to be more expensive than other MP3 players, but a lot of people find them easier to use. Also, the iPod has a few games on it. There are probably other MP3 players that also have games on them, though I don't know which ones off-hand.
Another good thing about iPods is that it's very easy to find accessories for them. One accessory you'll want is a car charger for your player.
But then again, iPods don't have removable batteries, which means that while your iPod is charging, you have nothing to listen to. Many other MP3 players have removable batteries, which means you can put fresh batteries in the player while the other batteries are charging.

An iPod IS an Mp3 player. AN Mp3 player IS an iPod.
Your asking about the same thing.
iPod has just spent more money on advertising than the other mp3 players on the market... and rightfully so.
It's a superior product.
So, go to the strore and buy an iPod... or any other mp3 player... they all play mp3's, after all...

according to someone on ebay, get an ipod if you have a mac or if you want to watch videos, an mp3 if you want to just listen to music and have a pc because you need more stuff to download to a ipod from a pc. you can check out the report yourself on ebay.co.uk mp3 help guide

ipod coz u can free download many songs from ur pc &enjoy lestining ... but in mp3 u have 2 buy cd's &that will cost u ..
