i didn't know where to post this question, but i heard the word is somehow linked with gays. i just think it's a cute way of saying boy :)

you're quite right, it is just a cute way of saying boy. And of course the Gay/Bi community make good use of it as bois are kind of central to our existence :)

I use boi more than boy, course i also use boiz, bois, boys, one of my screennames has the word boi at the end of it, i think its cute, gayboi, gaybois, its different, off the normal path i suppose.?!?

i am surprised you have never heard of it, or seen it in chat, course if you are a chat whore like most of us, you would have seen it.

Boi is deliberately altered spelling of boy, and is sometimes used as a synonym for male when referring to young adults. 'Boi' may refer to a young-appearing (and in reality relatively young) bisexual or homosexual male, especially one who is somewhat effeminate, or who merely wishes to distinguish himself with a different term from heterosexual boys.
