With a crash bar, (same type harley uses) the bike wont lay down all the way and I will be able to lift it back up.

You are fooling yourself if you think crashbars will help you lift a fallen Beemer.
There is a technique for raising them. I saw uit demonstrated by a small (albeit muscular) young woman at a show in Atlanta. She got behind the bike (on the side away from the wheels) and sqatted with her back to the bike. She grabbed the seat rail and then straightened her legs, hoisting the thing to a verticle. She claimed anyone could do it.
But the crash bar wouldn't help. And frankly, all crash bars do is transfer the damage from one point to another point on the bike. So you replace the upper faring instead of the lower. What's the difference?
I traded my R1100RS (which gave me a hernia trying to catch it ... lots of fun) for the R80/7 I ride now. I can pick this up and walk away with it, if I need to.
Sometimes, the old ways are the best ways.
Airheads forever.

There are lots of "farkles" (gadgets, and electronic accessories) for BMW street bikes, but there doesn't seem to be that much demand for crash bars. There are a few available for the GS style dual-sport bikes, but I have seen nothing available for the new K-bikes.

I guess people who ride BMWs just don't plan on laying them down.

I was told that the crash bars don't really do much except look good. Also as Grendle said, there is a way to pick a bike up, don't know if I wanna ever try that though....
