I found a quartz rocks that has black inside one hole on the rock and black on the side of the rock.whatisit?

You're probably right. It sounds like quartz to me.

If you have a college or university in town, take it there to the science dept. They will no doubt find it interesting.

the black could be part of the native country rock and shows black where it wwas in contact with the quart. Post a pic for def id
