Well I do both actually and with no headaches either. My parents live only a few miles away and my grandparents. So on major holidays I am able to not only celebrate at home but I can also go there for a while also. It's not that bad to be that close but usually I am still kind of glad when they are all over and life can return to normal. I don't know about your family but when mine get together it's hard to speak or know what anyone else is saying cause I think everyone tries to talk at the say time so I think we should think of them more in that way than to complain.

I'm pretty much a stay at home person. I would rather watch a parade on TV and avoid the pushing and crowding along the parade route. I love the fireworks, but would rather watch them from my backyard than go to the yearly fireworks display and have to fight for a place to sit and then fight the sun and bugs all day and night. No confidence keeps me at home.

I prefer to stay home. I remember always running from here to there on holidays as a child (we had 4 places to go, 2 on xmas eve and 2 on xmas day) and I hated it. Now, my kids help prepare the meal and they get to play with their toys instead of running.

It depends on which 'major holiday' it is and who comprises the crowd. Naturally, if it is my favourite holiday and I have friends & family around, why won't I go out, celeberate and have fun?
