Most girls have there period about every 28 days, start counting the days on the first day of your period (count the days that you have your period...they are part of the cycle) and mark when your next one will be on the calendar. Don't be alarmed if you don't start your period the exact day on the 29th day, other factors contribute to when you will start your period like stress, diet and exercise. You might have your period more often than once a month like someone I know so you should try to always be prepared if possible. This is why girls who don't want to carry a purse around will purchase a fanny pack to store pads. Also you could store an emergency pad in your backpack. You could buy the heavy flow kind that are super thin, because you can actually fit them in a front pocket (if you don't want/have a purse or a backpack), I found that the front pocket is better than the back pocket because somehow the pad works its way up out of the back pocket and then others who could see might make fun of you. Always Ultra Thin extra heavy flow with Wings is great! BUt if I didn't have an emergency pad, then I wouldn't JUST use a napkin....I would go to the bathroom and wipe inbetween every class that I could AND use a napkin, because just using a napkin can result in overflow and cause an embarrassing situation. Or I might ask a friend that had already had her period.....I would ask her if she had an extra pad. And I would always keep extra change on me so that I buy a pad in the restroom........however usually those restroom machines are broken and if they aren't broken then the pads are super thick and a bulge shows in your jeans like you pooped a big one and didn't use the restrooml But the change is another just in caser. Also, and if worse came to worse, I might ask my school nurse or my gym teacher for a pad because the school nurse usually has those same bulky pads that they have in the machines. And/or she will let you call home and have your mom bring you up one. I keep a calendar of when I will expect my period and then if I wanted to I could just start wearing them a day or two early. Or you can wear pantiliners every day which are very small and then and then it should hold you over until you leave for your next class as long as you don't gush! Don't be afraid...most girls periods start out lite and they feel the cramps and go to the restroom and check for blood and when there is some in their underwear they just put a pad on and take care of the underwear later. Good Luck and I hope this helps.

Run to the bathroom, if the teacher won't let you out, then don't worry about getting in trouble, just walk out. Use toilet paper, lots of it. When you get back to class, the teacher might send you to the office, but my friend walked out of class and they sent her to the office and called her mom, and her mom came up there and yelled at them for not letting her use the bathroom, don't worry too much though, after a few months you can see a pattern and you know about when you will start, just keep an extra pad in your purse just in case

If you are caught without a pad or tampon when your period starts you can use a table napkin, paper towel or toilet paper folded into a pad and placed in your panties. You may have to change it every hour or so but it is better than nothing.

Go to the bathroom asap. I would hope if you were at school they have some kind of pad dispenser at school, but if not then I'd roll up some toilet paper and use that until I could get out of there and get one.

if you're at school the nurse usually has a load full of extras. you can ask a friend. you can wrap toilet paper around your underwear if you get desperate. but thats why its good to just have a pad with you wherever you go no matter what.

when you go to the restroom, wrap toilette tissue around the crotch of your panties. It'll hold for at least a couple hours.
