FAULT is when the server lands the ball beyond the boundary line. And so, he needs to serve again.

when, upon serving again, his ball still lands beyond the boundary line, then, he is said to have a DOUBLE FAULT. and so, one point goes to the other player :-)

If the first serve hit the net and still landed in the service box then its called a let and you still have two serves left (basically a do over), if the first serve hit the net and did not go into the service box then it counts as a fault and since your second serve was a fault as well it is a double fault and your opponent gets the point.

When you are serving and miss the serving block twice. The first time is a fault the second time is double fault.

A double fault is when you serve and both times the ball lands outside of the service square diagonally across from you on the other side of the net.
