Why do celebrities have big Charitable dinners that cost a lot of money and?..?

Spend thousands of dollars getting dressed up. Paying for the Food etc. Why don't they just use that money and give it to the cause?

Good point. Well, celebrities have big egos and they want to look good for the media. So, they make a big deal about these dinners,auctions,etc. for all to see. Plus, celebrities like hanging out with each other. They gossip and see who's been having screwing who and who's been anorexic and smoking crack. Yea, that's what they do.
