Sometimes, if it is done with the right spirit and intent.
I had a large friend who was shopping for a dress to wear to a wedding. She tried on this orange thing and asked her husband what he thought of it......he said, "It looks good, honey."
That is when I came upon them and said, "Hi." She then asked me how it looked and I said, "Honestly, it makes you look kind of like a pumpkin. I really don't think you should get that dress."
She was grateful to know the truth, but only because she knew I was trying to spare her ridicule. If she thought I was making fun of her, it would have just hurt.
Also, if you are trying to give constructive criticism, do it privately--not where a lot of other people can listen in, because that would only embarass them.
I hope I have helped.

Two things to remember:
1. Criticize the ACTION and not the person.
2. Praise in public, criticize in private.

Criticism, like anything else, is neither good nor bad.
How you apply it is what makes the difference.
Be tactful, make sure your good intentions are known and, preferably, do it quietly and privately so you don't hurt the person's pride.
Unfortunately, there will still be those who, after being bombarded by tons of negative and soul-crushing criticism, will still be offended.

As long as you leave it open as to let them do the same to you....
I would say to you...use a dictionary. Hit the check spell check button. You really need to stay in school and learn how to spell.

No, you should take the time to improve your own flaws.(unless you employ or supervise them to help improve their performance)
