First note that attraction between water molecules is hydrogen bonding. There are many advantages of this from a biological point of view:

-If there was no hydrogen bonding, the boiling point of water will be much lower and thus it will all evaporate easily on a hot sunny day. This will make aquatic life impossible.
-Water is used as a temporary source of energy in our body. It is heated and than that heated water is used to provide energy to different parts of the body. Due to high attraction between water molecules, it can store higher amount of energy before raising its temperature, technically, its specific heat capacity is high because of strong intermolecular attraction.
