if you were gay, and your boyfriend's dad died, would you grieve and cry openly during the dad's burial?

wouldn't it be rather awkward to be flanked alongside your bf's brothers' wives and sisters' husbands. wouldn't crying louder than the in-laws and immediate relatives be considered a bit too much? despite society's modernity, "openess" and "acceptance" on certain matters of sexuality, shouldn't your partner's family's grief be considered a matter left to themselves?

Well This a Tough Question But Yes i Would Cry Becauseif you truely love your bf gay or not he needs all the support and loveyou can offer during this most difficult time in his life i wouldnt care if his family was there he needs to know that your there to always be with him and love him as well as support him

i don't think it has so much to do with acceptance and openess, or even whether you are gay or straight. with any funeral, unless you were extremely close or family, it is usually considered curteous to let the family grieve. that being said however, there is no shame in crying at a funeral, no matter who you are, or even whether u knew them or not!!! Just don't draw attention away from the family, after all its there day to grieve :)

I don't care if i'm gay or not!! a funeral is a funeral. I would cry regaurdless. Guys need to stop trying to keep emotions in and show people how you feel.Also it depends on how close you were to that family member. of course you don't want to bawl your eyes out if you never talked to him before.
