I am confused according to geography the version is different. Importantly i dont know wether i have to follow northern hemisphere sky charts or southern hemisphere sky charts.

according to all India is in Northern Hemisphere... any doubt? consult basic geography book :)

India is located north of the Equator so therefore India is in the Northern Hemisphere, but because most of India is close to the Equator you may be able to use southern hemisphere sky charts in part as well.

According to astronomy and geography India is in the southern hemisphere.

When you use your sky maps determine if India is north or south of the eclyptic.[the suns path around earth] If you are using an equatorial mount, use the bottom numbers on your RA setting circle for south of the eclyptic, the top numbers for north.
