adware is the best free spyware removal software out there. But when it comes to protecting ur computer from spyware, u whouldn't restrict urself to only 1 software. u must have a firewall & an anti-virys software installed. Then get some spyware softs. Download.com has a very good collection of free softwares (freewares). Go there & look for the softs if u want to go through all the choices available.
But I can definitely suggest:
Free anti-virus = Avast
Free firewall = ZoneAlarm
Free spyware = Adware & Spyware Terminator

Download SpyBot Search and Destroy at www.spybot.com. This program has been recommend by security at Microsoft.

Try yahoo's anti spy, along with norton and ad aware they all work together real well.
