Recently our some what small Ohio town had the misfortune of being flooded. There were a lot of people that were affected by this and some lost most of the only belongings that they had and although I've always viewed material things as of no importance it still can be very devestating in the moment. A local man was over heard voicing his opinion while on his cell phone about how ridiculous this was that we were getting all of this media attention when the flood was no where as bad as the one this community endured in 1969. No I don't know about most people but Im thanking god that it was'nt as disasterous as the past floods and I found it heartless to keep going on and on about this infront of people that were in the middle of such a nightmare.

First, please accept my sympathy for the what your town is enduring. Flooding is no joke and is a very difficult hardship but one that can be overcome. Your town will be back on it's feet and as good as ever.

Second there is the virus that is crossing the land. I call it braintonguenitis. It a rather obnoxious virus that separates the brain and tongue from communicating. Usual symptoms are rude, uncaring, hurtful comments that come out of a person mouth. Scientist are baffled by this and can only speculate that it's caused by small pea size brains that don't have the power to control the speech patterns. Only solution found so far is inserting a foot into mouth and if that doesn't work perhaps a fist?

It did sound a bit heartless, but obviously he was involved in the flood of 1969 and maybe he felt that there was not enough help and media coverage back then.
sometimes in such awful circumstances, people just want to get on with their lives as quickly as possible and having media crew and constant attention there is getting in the way.
He is probably just as upset about it as the next person, but we don't know who he was talking to. He may have been talking to his family who were worried sick about him and he was 'down sizing' the situation to put thier minds at rest.

We shouldn't judge a person on the basis of overhearing a one sided conversation!!

As rude as it sounded, maybe he was trying to express that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Sometimes people have a hard time saying somthing without sounding critical, they don't mean to it just comes out that way. Then again there are alot of people that go on being jerks even in rough times.

Some people will say anything to get attention even if it means hurting others, otheres are just so impulsive they speak without thinking for a second. but we just have to learn to ignore their petty coments.

Most people are born without the brain to mouth connection.
