Ocean mystery- science deficit or myth?
Can a sea or air vessel not be tracked continously and adequately with the modern technologies like satellite and locator-beacons to allow exploration of the area? Has this exploration not been undertaken by any adventureres or scientists?

I thinks it's because we still don't understand the sky and sea and so it is like a modern myth, but there have been stories of disappearances during the war. I would think that people had pride and would rather believe that the plane went missing into another dimension than by being shot down by the Germans or Japanese in WWII.

Whenever you hear stories like this, you have to think of why a society made them in the first place. Now we have myths about aliens because we don't understand space.

I've been into 'Unsolved Mysteries' since I was a pre-teen. I've come to a conclusion that the Bermuda Triangle is a myth. There is evidence that it was spin created by 'yellow journalists' back during the Spanish American War. It was further fed by that WWII squadron disappearing and then one of the rescue planes disappeared. Sea rescues involving air crafts was very iffy back then and isn't much better today. There is no greater number of lost or 'vanished' vessels in the Bermuda Triangle when compared to any other place. There is mystery there, like some 'ghost' ships found with there entire crews missing for no apparent reason. But this has happened other places too. It is a myth, and people love their myths. You could tell everyone how it is a myth, and they would keep right on talking about it. We humans love a good tale like this one. Another aspect about this is the predictions of the 'sleeping prophet', Edgar Cayce. He could put himself into a trance and supposedly predict the future as well as see into the hidden past. He talked about Atlantis once existing where the Bermuda Triangle is today. His details were very similar to the stories that Madam Blakvosky would 'channel' from 'spirits'. She created some occult group that was into Atlantis and stuff. An interesting truth is that that area of the sea floor has a high concentration of nitrate(or something) deposits and when a pocket of this stuff is released it will create great bubbles that travel to the surface. If any ship is directly above these bubbles, it will loose bouyancy and sink very quickly without apparent cause. If enough of these bubbles travel to the surface, pop, and the gas is released into the air and a plane is unlucky enough to get caught in a pocket of this gas it could cause the engines to fail or explode or something. Ships and planes travel through the Bermuda Triangle every single day and a very small number ever experience problems. A similar number to vessels that have problems in other waters, I might add.

I saw w a show on the history Chanel were they were investigating the Bermuda Triangle. They said that about 700 boats a year still go missing in that area. They also said that they had found large pockets of Methane gas in that area and were doing experiments to see if the Methane gas could cause an airplane/ship to crash. The results of their findings was that it is possible that the Methane gas caused these occurrences. It could make ships explode and airplanes motors to stall.

But they said at the end of the show that even though the Methane gas could have caused these things that it still doesn't explain why they have never found the remains of an explosion.

Some believe that it is a portal into another dimension.

Of course it has many times and there is nothing there but ships at the bottom of the ocean like there is in any other part of the world. Right now there are lots of pirates in some areas which the local officials are trying to deal with. Nothing unexplained though, but it make for good bedtime stories.

it is true that a lot ships and air craft have been lost in the area, but there is science that can help. because of the 'risk' it is hard to get funding. this is both the possibility of waisting money and of loosing the reasearchers. why it happens we will learn in the future maybe!
