Will you ever be remembered and idolized by millions? I thought not.

Great question Alex! Nothing like pissing off a bunch of Beatles fans!! It's amazing how a group, that was together for such a relatively short time, can still create such passion in people. I was never a big Beatles fan. Enjoyed their middle-period music. Their early stuff was rough, but they were still finding themselves. By the time they'd found themselves in the late 60's, I pretty much didn't like them.
I don't think that you'll ever be able to call Lennon/McCartney "overrated". But hey, you're welcome to your opinion. Their music has already stood the test of time.
Do you think that in 40 years you're going to be hearing songs by Greenday, Brittany Spears, INXS, BonJovi or Black Eyed Peas? I doubt it. Great music lasts. And it's great because the writing was great.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I don't agree.

I don't agree, but my opinion is no more important than yours. I think they were brilliant, and time has pretty much backed me up. About ten years ago, I heard that Paul McCartney had become the most prolific composer in the history of man--that is no small feat! Their music has continued to be timeless, and that is perhaps the true test of any form of music or song styling. And I really believe that people will still be playing their music in differing forms for many years to come! To categorize ALL their music as "half-baked love songs" is simply unfair and untrue.

Half-baked love songs? YOU are half-baked.

What kind of crap do you listen to? Let's see if people are talking about your favorite bands in 2046......doubt it.
