The Australian salt water crocodile is a ferocious predater.
So is the great white shark.
Salty's often swim great distances out to sea. (especially, off of Queensland Austraia.
The shark has an advantage because it does not have to surface for air.
Steve Irwin got some great footage of just such a battle, & screened it on his show "crocodile hunter".. The shark lost a pectoral fin and almost was killed. But the salty surfaced for a gulp of air and was nailed by the shark for his moment's inattention.

Great white shark will win, the crocodile prefer muds, swamp, and half water half land, not fully in water, sharks are very brutal when it comes t owater, and the carnivorous nature will allow shark to really deal with crocodile, the soft spot to hold crocodile is the back of the neck, which shark teeth can piece off quickly , watch the crocodile and tiger fight in metacafe.com , is intresting

I would say the shark, as croc's aren't known for their fondness of salty water & it might sting their eyes!
