Dead Sea was once open to the ocean.... due to the shift of the earth it got closed up from it .. evetuall it started evaporating andthe salinity became to high to support marine life .. fish were found floating dead on the sea .. hence the name deadsea

too salty and there is a fact about dead sea that a dead man put into dead sea will not drown but float. Happy Day!
