Since we are Americentric the "World" consists of America and possibly Canada. If India wanted to host the world series of say Polo we wouldn't make a fuss. Also some of you are so dated, the Montreal expos are long gone

Because it's always been called that, it's tradition. Back in the day, when they started the World Series, noone else played baseball yet.

And by the way, people, The Expos are NO MORE. They became the Washington Nationals. The only team in Canada is the Blue Jays.

and why we on the subject, why is socceer (however you spell it) called the "world" cup, when Canada doesnt have a team.
