The De Vinci Code is a novel kids. You know ...fiction.
Your question is a little like asking "if Harry Potter is true."
Oh ... I'm sorry. Didn't mean to be the one. Harry Potter is fiction too.

The Da Vinci Code book written by Dan Brown was based on facts, the book and the movie itself are fictionalized but there are lots of true parts in the story. The book was supposedly based on facts written in this book.
Holy Blood, Holy Grail.--Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, Henry Lincoln
HOW MUCH OF THIS NOVEL IS TRUE?
The Da Vinci Code is a novel and therefore a work of fiction. While the book's characters and their actions are obviously not real, the artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals depicted in this novel all exist (for example, Leonardo Da Vinci's paintings, the Gnostic Gospels, Hieros Gamos, etc.). These real elements are interpreted and debated by fictional characters. .

It's a film and a book that are called 'fiction'. 'Fiction' is the art of using your imagination. It often results in things that are not true. If you go to any bookshop, you will notice that the books are subdivided into 'fiction' and 'non-fiction'. Explore both of them and notice the subtle differences between the two. Just to clear up some other things that you might not be clear about:
- There is not really a school called Hogwarts.
- There is no 'Middle Earth' with orcs and other creatures.
- Robinson Crusoe didn't really get stranded on that island.
- There is no place called 'Never-Never Land' that you can fly to if you wish hard enough.
- Even didn't really talk to a snake. (Oh, wait - some people do believe that one).
If you're worried about yourself or other people being 'brainwashed' by this insidious thing called the human inagination, I'd suggest you attempt to develop an imagination of your very own. Also something called 'suspension of disbelief'. These tools may help you live a productive life in the modern world.
Good luck to you!

The Da Vinci code is a work of fiction. It never pretended to be anything but a work of fiction. Like any good work of fiction, it uses some factual material for its foundation in order to make what you are reading believeable, but then the author employs his or her imagination to write what he or she hopes will be an interesting, entertaining book. It is not a "lie" any more than Sleeping Beauty or Superman is a "lie". It would only be a lie if the person who wrote it claimed that what he wrote was completely factual. Mr. Brown has never made that claim, nor ever pretended that what he wrote was completely factual. I don't know why so many people are upset about this - I wish they'd get over it.

Leonardo Da Vinci was a very gifted artist, however I don't
think that he would be too pleased with the way this generation
has played with his artistic qualities as too consider that he secretly put a code of biblical knowledge into a painting for
a generation some 400+ years after his death to find and have
the secret code book to decifer such a message
YEAH right.

its a theory like evolution or UFOs. Jesus' life was not put into the bible between the ages of 12-30. So no one knows for sure. believe what you want, but if you believe DA vinci's code..you are crazy!

No fire, No smoke. So... Most of it is true since not just his book but Nat geo Channel investigated. Dan Brown is a consummate writer. He has mostly used truths and just that right mixture of fiction to make it an unputdownable book.
