Yes it is caused a prolapse. If this happens push it back in with a finger and go see a doctor. It is not generally life threatening but needs treating.
Also, a large internal hemorrhoid when inflammed can stick out of the anus and be confused with a prolapse. If you are feeling something stick out it is 99% likely to be this. Again not life threatening but you need to see a doctor and have it treated.

Yes it is. I believe it's called a servely prolapsed colon. I can not find any links to confirm that.

Yes it is called a prolapse bowle. (I am a LPN) I have seen a few patients who suffered from this. Here is a web site that can explain.
