well being to thin as you grow older has been linked to osteoporosis , so have a bit of meat not to much or you will get diabetes; but slightly overweight people have more dense bones to support themselves generally speaking but it has been documented....this is assuming this overweight person is not completely sedentary....umm of course ostocal or some produsct like that is also said to improve skeletal health

Make sure to get plenty of calcium and excercise. Also make sure to get at least 15 minutes of sun a day so you get enough vitamin D so you can absorb the calcium.

Weight bearing exercise helps to build bone. Taking extra calcium and vitamin D.

Avoid red meat, eat plenty of fruits, nuts and vegetables...don't smoke or drink...take supplemental vitamins...drink lots of water...exercise regularly.
