This happen to me in jr. high. I told my mom, she said, " the teacher must of really wanted you to go, maybe there was something you could of learned that now you missed out on. " Don't worry about the teachers threat. I did and had a knot in my stomach, my teacher just wanted the best for me, and thought the old way of do it else would work. The only misery I have is wondering what I missed out on learning, even if it was a lesson or two. Every lesson is something to grow on. So Just ignore your teachers bad method. Nothing will happen.

An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind.
Fighting with your teacher will just make BOTH of you miserable and probably everyone else in the class too. Find a compromise. Find out why it was so important for you to go on this camp.
Most teachers are fair so if you can find out what the reasons are and then do something else instead then I'm sure that your teacher will not hold a grudge.
Your teacher is there to help you. Learning isn't always fun but it is sometimes. If you can turn it into a more positive situation then YOU will have more fun and so will everyone else around you.
If you want to work at McDonalds or in some sweatshop for the rest of your life then go ahead and ignore your teacher.

Teachers (people in general) can make rough statements like "he will make our life miserable" when they are passionate about an idea that they see could benefit you or your other classmates. I mean, you know the teacher and you've worked with him, but I'm guessing that the statement he made could be considered the equivalent of "Man, we're gonna have the party of the century. You better be there!" You know.
Try to look at the type of relationship you've had with this teacher in the past. Was it good or bad? If it generally has been a good relationship, then I would suggest you go to the teacher and try to explain why you didn't go to the camp to try to smooth things over with him.
If your relationship with him has been not so good in the past, then you may want to involve other adults in the matter. I would start with my parents. I'm not sure how old you are or how close you are to your parents, but if you are close to your parents and your relationship is such that you can discuss practically anything with them, I would definitely mention this situation to them (just in case).
Here again, I don't know your teacher, but you do. But if you feel confident enough, I would approach him about the situation instead of walking around with a cloud over my head wondering when or how he's going to "get" me. :O)

Doesn't sound right does it.
He does not have that kind of control over you.
Speak to your parents about this, and make sure
if any complaints are made about the teacher that
everyone gets there facts right (Was he just joking?)
Do not go above his head, he needs to be approached
by a group of parents in a civil manner.

Bring in a type recorder to school and record everything that he(teacher) says and does to you. By doing this you will be able to show proof of the abuse and if possible bring in a mini camcorder.
Best of luck and play it safe.

Get him in a room alone with no witnesses , maybe on the pretext of discussing the issues then when you are sure it's just you and him punch yourself in the lip or eye and allege that he did it. Problem solved

The word escapes me for your situation....harassment?.....but in any case there is no reason your teacher has a right to do this. Report him to the administration.
