Do anyone know if having a low credit score have prevented you from getting the job that you wanted? Does having a college degree matter if your credit score isn't great? Since most people in America have debt in some form or another, credit score shouldn't alone determine your ablities to perform a job.

Some employers interpret "bad credit" as a sign of irresponsibility.

There are many employers/jobs that will check your credit.

My cousin missed out on a correction officer's job because of bad credit.

At any rate, start working on cleaning up your credit now.

You don't need an agency. You can call creditors, explain your situation, make a payment plan, ask for interest relief, etc.

Many people have debt. To have debt and to have bad credit is not one and the same.

Bad credit means you don't pay your bills, borrow or spend more than you can pay, etc.

Yes, your credit CAN affect what job you can get. To apply with law enforcement you need to have good credit or chances of getting hired are almost zero if not.

It's mean bu they do check your credit and can decide to not hire yoiu becasue of it. They may feel you'll steal if you need money desperatily. It's a werid catch 22... not all companies do this. But it can supercede your college education if they dont trust you.

it shouldn't I think it's evil but it seems they would rather hire a rich person than a dead broke one.
