i guess the thing that hacks me off the most is when people will break their neck running a stop sign or stop light to make sure they pull out in front of me.
then they drive 30 mph in a 55!
arrrrggghhhh

I have a theory. These dangerous, inconsiderate drivers other people have mentioned have a problem with their anatomy. When they sit down in the car to drive, it puts so much pressure on their brain they are unable to remember any of the rules of driving they had to learn in order to pass the drivers exam.
Tailgaters are my pet peeve, I resent being crowded. I put on my hazard flashers and if they don't back off, I apply the brakes firmly while watching that they don't hit me. That will make them either stay back or pass me in anger. Good bye gater. Hope a radar cop gets you.
Seriously speaking, it is much too easy to get a license in this country and too easy to keep one if you're a lousy driver. Sad to say, bad driving is only one way of exhibiting a general disrespect for the safety of others. Traffic laws are established to provide a safe environment for everyone who drives. Those who break those laws are OUTLAWS. They place their own wishes above the safety of others. That is thoughtless and selfish behavior. But, when they smack into someone and cause injury they are the last to admit fault, some will even try to drive away.
Maybe the answer would be if everyone who cares would keep a paintball gun in their car. When someone does something stupid or illegal, splatter them with the guckiest green glob you can find. When people start seeing cars covered with green junk they will know who the dangerous ones are. OOPS, that would just be one more distraction while driving and it would soon have the good drivers behaving badly while trying to blast the nardos. ignore this last paragraph no matter how much fun it sounds............

I live in an area where people have mastered the art of bad driving habits. Among them, in no particular order, are ignoring stop signs/red lights, paying more attention to phone, coffee, passenger, etc. than the road, turn signals are optional as is checking for traffic when switching lanes, crosswalks are a hindrance to some drivers (hope they have to walk in one some day), and speed limits are to be ignored at all costs. I find drivers today are going wherever they're going in quite a hurry and they will do anything to get there yesterday.

The worst one always has been and always will be what I call "freeway vigilantes."
These are the ones that will clog up the freeways by driving slow in the fast lane. Most are ignorant to their surroundings (kids jumping around, talking on cell phone, etc) but the worst ones are the ones that intentionally go slow in the fast lane because "it's the law."
What they don't get is that it's ALSO the law to drive in the fast/passing lane and NOT be passing anyone. Let alone the illegalities of blockikng the flow of traffic, regardless of the speed.
As far as switching lanes in the middle of an intersection, that will vary state by state.
When I lived in California, I remember it being illegal there.
However, in Nevada, it is legal to change lanes in the middle of an intersection given that you have ensured that the intersection is clear of cross-traffic and pedestrians.

haha yeah texting and driving is horrible...i used to do it until i read about a kid who ended up killing someone by hitting them when he was doing that.
I think the worst driving habit it not using blinkers. Also, soo many people keep turning after the left turn light has turned red.
i really could go on and on...
And actually, to answer your second question, that's one thing i don't notice too often, people switching lanes in the intersection..

You keep telling about crazy drivers how about turtles on the road ???
Those silly people think they obey rules and that's enough? If they planning on driving 35 m/h than they should stay in right lane!
And believe me I'm not talking about older people.
Some people are just not born to drive, sorry but that's true.

I drive trucks for a living. I see more stupid stuff than the regular drive to work/drive home person. There is no end to the craziness out there. I have come to one inescapable realization....There is too little training and not enough re-training in the USA. If these people had to re-test, they would be riding on the bus.

How about people who drive over the crosswalk and force you to walk into traffic? People who drive out of driveways without looking behind them or in front? People who accelerate on hills in the suburbs? People who park giant semis in the suburbs because they drive them all day and are now visiting their girlfriends? Chicks who hang the freshly painted toenails out to dry from the side window? People who do u-turns at intersections? People who drive over islands to get to parking lots more quickly? People who turn left without signalling? People who turn left at a green light in their lane while pedestrians are trying to cross and get mad when it is your turn to go across? Red lights that last two minutes and other green ones that last thirty seconds..

Finally, I could go on for days, lets see where do I start, ok, how about when the turn arrow is green and the car in front of you still stops before he/ she turns, HELLO! you got a turn arrow you don't have to stop, no cars are comming they have a red light!. ok, how about when you are sitting waitingin line to pull onto the highway and the first car in line is scared to get into traffic?and misses several times when 3 or 4 cars could have went? What is she/he waiting on? CHRISTMAS? If you are scared, don't drive. Ok, how about when you are going the speed limit (55) and some idiot pulls out in front of you, guns it to get on the road then pulls their foot off the gas peddal and goes 35, if you gun it to get on the hwy, keep on, don't take your foot off the gas, ESPECIALLY if you just pulled out in front of someone, cus they will then have to slam on their brakes or slam into your rear end. ok I can feel my blood pressure rising, I'll just let it go with those I wont vent any more, I hope you liked my answers

I have at least two: not giving cars in roundabouts the right of way, and changing to the right lane instead of the left lane (if there is one) to bypass a slower moving vehicle on the freeway.
