If you have not had the depo shot, you may be experiencing a heavier and longer flow because you have a build up of debris in the lining of your uterus from past cycles that didn't clear everything out. You might need a D & C to clean it up and get everything going smoothly again. I have had periods that lasted for more than 3 weeks, than started again a week later. If having sex restarts your flow once it has stopped, you definitely need to see a doctor about this. Unless you have reason to believe you may have suffered a miscarriage, monday should be soon enough. You will not bleed to death, but you can become anemic to the point of needing a blood transfusion if you let this go on too long. There are also medications that will help dry up your flow but you must take them under a doctor's supervision. See your doctor soon.
Definitely talk to your mother about this. She will be able to reassure you that everything will be fine better than we can. So don't be shy. Just talk to her in your room or wherever you can be private and tell her what's going on. She will notice for herself soon anyway, so ease your mind and talk to her now.

Well, depending on your age, and other factors like could you be pregnant, there could be a couple of things going on. But the best advise I can give you is to go see your Dr. ASAP! Really, only he can tell you what is wrong.
The same sort of thing did happen to me only I had a period that lasted more or less for about a year. The 1st Dr. put me on birth control even though I didn't need it but the hormones in them might possibly regulate the cycle. After, several months of that NOT working, I sought another opinion. That Dr. found that my uterus was enlarged. He could tell that through a pelvic exam. So he set me up for a D&C and a laporoscopy to try to see what was going on in there. The D&C stopped the bleeding and the lap showed that I had fibroid tumors and a biopsy of the uterine lining showed that I had a disease called adenomyosis to which the only solution was a complete hysterecomy. That was MY experience and every one's is different. So like I said, GO to the Dr. Please.

You need to see an Ob/Gyn, and if you feel dizzy, out of breath or look pale, go to the E.R immediately.
