Today, my sister was telling me about how Adolph Hitler had multiple near-death experiences, but escaped everytime. This is the first time I've heard such theories. A lot of these stories included assassins who always failed in attempts to kill him. Some include switched suitcases containing bombs, a car accident, snipers, etc, which all happened before he became chancellor. Can anyone clarify this for me? Are these stories myths or are they historical fact?

I didn't mean my question to imply that Hitler was immortal. I was talking about the attempts on his life BEFORE he actually became leader of Germany.

There were several attempts on Hitler's life, all of which he escaped. There have been rumors of attempts prior to his becoming Chancellor, but nothing has been absolutely proved. After he came to power, and during WWII, there were also several attempts. The most famous, and the one that came closest to success, was the July 20th plot in 1944. A bomb was left in a briefcase at a staff meeting in Hitler's bunker in East Prussia; it exploded; but Hitler was saved from death because someone picked it up and was moving it when it went off. Hitler purged his officer corps in retaliation (Even Rommel was given the choice of suicide or execution), and was never the same after the attempt. Within a year he was dead by his own hand in Berlin.
Several novels and films have been created about fictional attempts on his life; the most famous is Rogue Male, by Geoffrey Household.

before he was a chancellor? which is 1933. maybe
But there were attemts to kill them during the war, some of them didn't work out
One of them was when a general put a bomb in the plane in which hitler was but the bomb froze and failed to explode.
The most known is the attempt from summer 1944 when , during a conference, one general left a briefcase full with explosives in the briefing room. The bomb exploded, killed some people but Hitler suffered only a minor injury.
The german who was the head of conspiracy was Stauffenberg and he is regarded as a hero/

I compare hitler with Charles Manson and all of the current terrorists. I'm am stricktly AGAINST the death penalty but there ARE acceptions to every rule and these are just a handful of them. Imposing the death penelty is like plaing God.......Someone does smething horrifc and they need to pay fo their wrong-doings but by putting them to death isn't playing human. Only God can make that decision no matter how haneous the crime. So yes, I do believe that Hitler should have died because it's all in God's hands.....not ours.

If you're a dictator that rose to power by illegitimate means, there's more than statistically significant probability that people are going to try and kill you. Yes there were attempts on his life that failed, but that proves nothing. Luck, chance and some pre-ordained destiny has no scientific basis and is the realm of fancy and fairy tale superstition.

Talking about Hitler, that sneaky little rat, who brainwashed the innocent german and austrian innocent inhabitants . .
* sighs *
He blinded Germany, Europe, even the World.
The Red Cross did nothing when it came in the ghettos.
The Russians knew about the death camps and did nothing.
Everyone was afraid, everyone was blinded.
They say, 6 million jews died.
What about the gypsies, the homosexuals , the political opponents, and protestants?!
What about all the innocents people.
I hate Hitler, and always will.
Maybe it was fate, what you said, nice theory, very possible, and explainable.
Maybe he wasn't supposed to die, maybe God wanted to show the world, that one man, can kill about 10 million people, that one man, can take a nation to his hands, that one man, can do whatever he wants.

What are you talking about? Adolf Hitler isn't dead. He's living in our basement. You can come over to my house and ask him if you'd like. The whole thing about him dying is a big myth. He's actually my great grandfather. We all had to change our names of course, and I'm not allowed to tell you what we've changed it to. I've probably already told you too much.

They are facts. Several people tried to take him out without success. Wish someone could have, may not of had the problems he caused. The only reason he took his own life was that he didn't want his enemies to capture him. Suicide was the best thing he ever did for his country.

Yes Hitler was supposed to die. Did you know that Rasputin was hard to kill too? Everyone will die at one time or another.
