It's easier to say yes to food than say yes to exercising. Getting your heart rate up is the easiest way to get your metabolism going. It takes commitment to get up in the morning or sometime during the day to go to the gym, ride a bike, walk, or any other form of exercise. It is also important to portion control your food. As long as you eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly or just stay physically active during the day you can drop those 11 pounds. I lost 8 pounds in a month just taking stairs and taking 45 minute walks. I also ate what I wanted when I wanted in small amounts. (But I don't like fried foods.) Crash diets work for a short amount of time. But staying lean is more of a lifestyle. Are you willing to make that commitment to yourself? Losing more than 2 pounds a week is unhealthy.

Its neither harder or easier to lose weight or gain weight. Weight loss or gain is determined by many different factors, body mass, metabolism, genetics, food distrubution, etc. It's just the things you have to do to actually lose weight is a bit harder for some people. Its easier to sit around, eat chips and watch TV than it is to Get up and go exercise for most people. If you really want to lose 11lbs, there is a quick way to do this. For one day....drink 10 cups of water, nothing else. You'll lose 5lbs. The second day...eat moderately, do not over indulge. The third day,do the same thing you did the First day....in 3 days you'll lose between 9-12 lbs....What you did, you just flushed all the excess water out your body. Don't expect get these results again...the water is already gone out your system...doing it again however may drop off 2 lbs :)

I think the answer to that depends on how much you weigh and what you do. It's mostly a matter of math. Are you eating more energy than you're using up? If so, eat less because your body doesn't need that energy.
The rest is genes and stuff. But be careful, 11lbs is a lot, especially if you're already at a healthy weight.
