i just reinstaled it ... ionce you click and drag the sone to the play list and click next to burn the cd it wants you to go into another file and there isnt anything in the file so i clicked ok and it will actlike its burning it but it doesnt

too many questions for me to ask you before I can give you an answer. Post this on sharkyforums.com and we can help you best there. Post what hardware you're using, basic specs on your comp, what software you're using to burn and what you are trying to burn onto the CD.

see if xp will detect it. go to start, right click my computer and click properties. then go to the device manager and see if anything has a yellow circle with a ! in it. click that and it will ask you if you want to update the driver and you should be able to either go online to find a driver or insert the driver cd that came with it.
